Hamilton watches are the gifts that keep on giving

A Hamilton watch is for life, not just for Christmas

What’s the sign of a truly great Christmas gift? It’s not in the cries of delight as they unwrap it or the hug you receive as a thank you but in the fact that in five, ten or twenty years time they’re still treasuring it. And, should you gift them a Hamilton watch this Christmas, this is exactly what will happen.

The Swiss watch house pours generations of technical expertise, design authenticity and its own storied history into every timepiece, in turn, creating heirloom watches that are passed down through families and cherished for decades. And, with a hugely diverse range of timepieces to choose from, there’s guaranteed to be a Hamilton watch that matches everyone on your Christmas list. Read on for a few of our favourites…

Khaki Aviation Converter Auto Chrono

hamilton aviation christmas

You don’t have to be a professional pilot to appreciate the beauty and technical mastery that has gone in to creating the Khaki Aviation Converter Auto Chrono but, if you do happen to have one on your Christmas list, they’ll be glad to find it beneath the tree. Hamilton has been creating watches for the professional flying community for over a century, having created the first U.S. Airmail timepiece in 1918, and continues to be a go-to for pilots in need of reliable watches today.

The Converter Auto Chrono’s most distinguishing feature is its bi-directional rotating bezel which, when combined with the fixed scale on the dial, creates a sliding rule that allows for mathematical calculations for airspeed, distance, fuel consumption, flight time and converting distance units while in flight. If that wasn’t enough, the powerful H-21-Si movement insides also boasts small seconds, 30-minute and 12-hour counters, as well as a day-date function, all neatly placed into one 44mm package.

American Classic PSR Digital

hamilton psr christmas

For something a little different, but still packed with watchmaking history, Hamilton’s PSR is hard to beat. Launched to mark the 50th anniversary of the Hamilton Pulsar, a space-age inspired watch that was one of the most revolutionary timepieces ever seen when it was unveiled in 1970, the PSR replicates not only its futuristic look but also the functionality which made it such a hit the first time round.

The push-button light up display, for example, is back – with a few modern upgrades. The display has been swapped from LED-only to a combination of reflective LCD and OLED so it remains readable all day but still offers that distinctive scarlet reading when the button is pushed. And, while that sculpted steel case remains unchanged, it now also features anti-reflective sapphire crystal and 100 metre water resistance to meet the needs fo the modern man.
