The grooming products to help you beat the heat this summer

Feeling hot under the collar? Here comes help…

This year, it seems as though the summer weather’s trying to catch us out. We’re minding our own business, jacketed up and going about our business and then, wham! A heatwave sneaks up and hits us out of nowhere.

Dressing for an office or workplace during one such of these heat hits is difficult enough, but its important to prepare for the perspiration in every walk of life, from wardrobe to bathroom cabinet. So calm yourself, take a look at the products below, and get ready for the next time the sun decides to shine.

There’s nothing worse than humidity for unruly hair. Even the most closely-cropped barnet will misbehave in the heat, so invest in some of the best waxes and sprays that will promise not to melt or crumble in the face of rising temperatures.

We’d recommend Patricks M3 Matte Finish Strong Hold Pomade, which is designed to tame thick, coarse hair even in the best of conditions, or Fudge Urban Matte Head Master – again, an incredibly strong holding product with a matte finish, which will make your hair look less shiny in the sun. And, speaking of beating the shine…

There’s nothing worse than a shiny face during a heatwave. Red cheeks and a sweaty face scream unpreparedness. So, to keep it cool – in every sense of the word – invest in an anti-shine moisturiser, or a cream with a cooling agent.

We’d suggest you go for Recipe for men’s Anti-Shine Moisturizer, which will keep those glares at bay and energise your dry skin at the same time, or Sisley’s Sunleya After-Sun Care, which will not only minimise those wrinkles, but will soothe and cool – and stop you overheating.

To stop yourself overheating, and sweating in summer – never a good look – you need to invest in a decent anti-perspirant deodorant. Surprisingly, a roll-on is rather good in this respect, and we’d found two of the best to help you stop sweating for good.

Clinique for Men have predictably come up trumps with their simple yet highly-effective roll-on, which promises not to irritate your skin or discolour the light linen shirts you should be wearing in this weather. Alternatively, Tom Ford’s Neroli Portofino Deodorant Stick is infused with the eponymous label’s fragrance, and will keep you feeling fresh even on the longest of days.

There’s nothing worse than burning, and having to endure the jibes and jokes of friends and co-workers. So, to avoid your red face causing you to be red-faced, invest in a good mist, spray or cream to cover yourself from the sun.

Lab Series’ Daily Moisture Defense Lotion has subtly slipped an SPF factor of 15 into its composition, meaning that you’ll be protected day-in day-out with their lightweight formula. Similarly, Malin + Goetz’s green tea-infused moisturiser is UV resistant – but this time, 30 SPF.
