Introducing the brand partners of Gentleman's Journal Live 2025

With the second edition of Gentleman's Journal Live approaching, let us introduce our valued brand partners

Gentleman’s Journal Live, a two-day series of panel discussions with industry leaders and pioneers, is returning for its second year. This year’s edition will take place on the 12th and 13th May, at Phillips in Berkeley Square. The event is set to be an inspiring exploration of themes including the future of media, building a luxury brand from scratch, and what good hospitality really means. It wouldn’t be possible without the support of our valued partners, Polestar, Allbirds, Native Land and Penfolds – all of whom you can get to know better below.

Allbirds

Allbirds was born from a simple question: why wasn’t one of the most versatile and sustainable materials – merino wool – being used in footwear? That question came from Tim Brown, a native New Zealander and an ex-professional footballer with a deep appreciation for wool’s natural performance and comfort. His curiosity sparked years of exploration, which led to a partnership with Joey Zwillinger, an engineer and expert in renewable materials. Together, they reimagined the footwear industry, going against the grain to craft shoes using natural materials instead of virgin synthetics.

Initially launching with one shoe – the now-iconic Wool Runner, Allbirds has since expanded its portfolio into a growing assortment of footwear and apparel that blends natural material innovation with modern design. As a B Corp brand built on sustainability, simplicity and comfort, Allbirds has attracted a cult following, including the likes of Jacob Elordi, Regé-Jean Page, Ben Affleck, Barack Obama, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland and Stanley Tucci.

Native Land

Native Land is a property developer, development manager, and co-investor with a focus on creating exceptional, sustainable mixed-use spaces in London and across the UK. Driven by deep market insight, meticulous attention to detail, and a bold, forward-thinking approach, it is committed to delivering projects that not only meet the highest standards – but challenge conventional thinking.

Sustainability is at the core of everything Native Land does. Its developments are designed to protect the environment and improve the quality of life for the communities it serves. It is also proud to support LandAid, the property industry charity working to end youth homelessness by providing safe, suitable, and affordable housing for young people in need.

Penfolds

Since the very beginning, Penfolds’ commitment to quality has been underpinned by the art of blending and attesting all wines are connected through a consistent and recognisable ‘House Style’; the ultimate expression of a time-honoured and distinctive tradition of finding the best grapes to make wine from the very best regions.

Today, this philosophy extends beyond Australia to the bountiful soils of California, Napa Valley, Bordeaux, and China. Penfolds continues to ‘Venture Beyond’ in 2025 and will celebrate 181 years of excellence; achieved through an alchemy of art and science. Through the passing of time, wine innovations have become great traditions and old and new generations continue to mark moments and create their own stories – with a glass of Penfolds in hand. And so, almost two centuries since inception, Penfolds continues to write new chapters and proudly remains one of the world’s most revered winemakers.

Polestar

A leader in the pure-electric sector, Gothenburg-based Polestar is on a mission to improve society by dovetailing design and technology to speed up the shift towards sustainable mobility. In 2017, Polestar 1, the debut car – a two-door, 2+2 seat Grand Tourer Coupé with an ‘Electric Performance Hybrid’ drivetrain, 600hp, and a range of 93 miles on electric power alone, which set an industry benchmark for being the longest full electric range of any hybrid car – was unveiled.

Two years later, the curtain was lifted on Polestar 2, an electric performance fastback with contemporary Scandinavian design and up to 350kW, and 2022 saw the launch of Polestar 3, a high-performance SUV that’s defined by its sporty build, sizeable interior, and low stance. The latest innovation from the brand arrived in 2024, in the form of the sleek and refined Polestar 4, the second electric SUV in the line-up and also the fastest production car to date, with an ability to achieve 0–62mph in just 3.8 seconds.
