Giorgio Armani’s SS18 collection is simple yet sophisticated

In Milan, the 'wise and serene' designer shares his vast new range

With more than three decades of cutting sartorial swathes through – and commanding respect from – the fashion industries and luxury business, Giorgio Armani has continued his reign over the fashion world with a truly international collection.

During Milan fashion week, Armani showcased almost one hundred different looks on the runway, all models in front of a production screen that simply stated: ‘Made in Armani’. And that’s as simple a statement as the designer needs to display his dedication, and pure approach to the craft.

Giorgio Armani has continued his reign over the fashion world with a truly international collection

Entirely dedication, Armani’s new range follows no rules but his own, and openly discards any fleeting trends or current quirks within the industry. A personal sense of style pervaded the SS18 collection, and resembled the man himself, who has – throughout the years – been described as wise, serene and comfortable, and is famed for his unerring passion for travel.

From classic Italian-style suiting to oriental button-down shirting and preppy bomber jackets, this vast and characterful collection offers something for every man, whoever – or indeed wherever – he may be.

The shapes were simple; tailoring was double breasted or single buttoned, but always lightweight, paired with trousers that just grazed the ankles in a true ode to his Italian heritage. Flashes of silver in the form of jackets spruced up a classically tonal range filled with light greys, navies and camel – subtle sophististication to enhance your sartorial standing during the coming summer months.

Giorgio Armani displayed on the large scale that he can create everything that the modern man could possibly need to complete his spring summer wardrobe. But, with simple, incredibly well-crafted pieces, these are not fleeting investments. Instead, these statement and layering pieces alike will seamlessly pair with future collections – proving that Armani is a man with a vision.
