The first new Ford GT has been delivered

Do you wish the all-new supercar was rolling up to your front door?

Back in 2015, at the North American International Auto Show, Ford unveiled their design for the second generation GT supercar. This week, the carmaker revealed that the first model had been delivered to one lucky customer.

Marking the beginning of a brand new production run, Ford’s production begins exactly 50 years since the GT40 won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. The automaker now hopes to build the GT at a rate of one car per day until October 2020.

There has been huge demand for the new GT – and it’s not hard to see why. Carbon fibre features heavily both inside and out, available in either spec gloss, matt or Shadow Black depending on the buyer’s wants.

6,500 would-be owners applied for the new GT, which will be offered in its 2017 iteration with the Le Mans heritage colour scheme. It will also be available in eight other bright colours, from orange to blue, which will be co-ordinated with interior leather and custom racing stripes.

Customisation is key with the GT, with almost every component available for personalisation down to the brake calipers – which come in silver, blue, orange or red.

With 600bhp, aeronautical inspired looks and a price tag of £300,000, this mid-mounted, twin-turbo 3.5 litre thing of beauty gave one buyer a very Merry Christmas. But would you be happy if this regenerated classic rolled up to your door?
