Grand Seiko's ‘Icefall’ Hi-Beat 1998 Revival in Titanium echoes the design of the first ever Grand Seiko mechanical 9S watch launched in 1998. Its appearance is inspired by the surroundings of the Grand Seiko Shizukuishi studio where the brand’s mechanical timepieces are handcrafted in house by Takumi artisans. Meanwhile the ‘Icefall’ 40mm case is crafted from High-Intensity Titanium – 30 per cent lighter than stainless steel - and the new dial pattern is in an ice blue, inspired by the natural ‘icefall’ phenomenon seen when the natural springs near to Mount Iwate freeze over.
