- Words: Dan Scothern
Each week we present to you some of the best products on the planet. Whether it's Bond-inspired whisky or classic rugbies, these are the items that you need to shake up your lifestyle for the better...
Vacheron Constantin - Overseas Tourbillon "Deep Red"
An enviable balance between technical and sporty, this Overseas Tourbillon from Vacheron Constantin is the first in the range to combine robust titanium with a powerful deep red dial. Its sleek silhouette is owing to a calibre 2160 ultra-thin movement (with a profile of just 5.65 mm and a diameter of 31 mm) allowing this piece to sit proudly on a bare wrist, or peek inquisitively from beneath a shirt cuff. The "Deep Red" comes equipped with the brand's recognisable triple-blade folding clasp integrated titanium bracelet, alongside both red and white rubber straps for interchangeable versatility.
The Macallan - Diamonds Are Forever 55th Anniversary Release
"Unlike men, the diamonds linger…" – a potentially disputable line from Dame Shirley Bassey, but one that can most certainly be refuted if a bottle of The Macallan's latest release has been revealed from the back bar. Crafted to celebrate the 55th Anniversary of Diamonds are Forever (following on from the brand's Six Decades of Bond Collection in 2022), this whisky has been crafted with the film's narrative in mind. Matured in ex-sherry and red wine casks - tipples that feature in the film - the American oak used is a nod to the Las Vegas and California locations, while the liquid colour itself evokes the barren Nevada desert. A fitting dram for the Fleming fanatic.
Aubin - Irnham Rugby Shirt
For those who've been struck down with an incurable bout of Six Nations fever, but whose Guinness-splashed O2 emblazed top is looking a little long in the tooth, we'd like to firmly point you in the direction of Aubin, and its Irnham Rugby Shirt collection. Suitably retro and cut in a weighty jersey with a rich slubbed texture, this piece has all the charm of a classic Cotton Traders (covered placket, rubber buttons) but with an updated, sartorial edge.
McLaren - Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition
Created by McLaren Special Operations and celebrating McLaren Racing's 10th Formula 1 Constructors' Championship and back-to-back world titles, the storied automotive brand is offering ten clients the opportunity to own the extremely limited Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition. Featuring a hand-painted Myan Orange and Onyx Black livery, multiple '10' motifs commemorating the McLaren F1 cars that won Constructors' titles and a carbon fibre sill signed by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, it's a fitting ride for any McLaren superfan.
Tissot - PR516 38mm
Born from the strenuous world of motorsport, the original 1950s PR516 paved the way for horological precision, reliability and durability. Away from the motor circuit, this style garnered further acclaim on the wrist of Roger Moore in 1973’s Live and Let Die, cementing its place in the James Bond wrist wear annals. Now, for 2026, the brand has released four new references into the PR516 family, including this 38mm iteration to reinforce the model’s heritage and hardiness.
TDR - 3D Seamless Cotton Crew Marine
A classic piece, modernised; this Guernsey style knit from TDR at The Garbstore combines premium Japanese-sourced textiles with British mastery. Constructed using 3D Shima Seiki technology, this multifaceted crew has no seams, allowing for optimum comfort, versatility and durability. Neck, hem and cuff ribbing adds a splash of vintage character, neatly completing this timeless design.
The Pearl Source - Tahitian Baroque Pearl Leather Necklace
For the gentleman looking to add an element of intrigue to his jewellery rotation, a Tahitian pearl could be the way to go. More commonly known as 'black pearls' this variant offers subtle undertones of green, pink, blue, silver and yellow, adding charm and unpredictable mystery to whatever set they find themselves in. The Tahitian Baroque Pearl Necklace from The Pearl Source is our pick, and the subtle leather strand allows the beauty and character of the stone to shine through.
Purdey - Field Game Bag
Primed for moorland over Mayfair, the Field Game Bag from Purdey is a modern example of how the brand has remained on the top of its game since 1814. Designed to hold all shoot-day wares, and the result of the craftsmanship and quality that runs through all items in the Purdey collection, this waterproof cotton canvas and leather piece is an immediate field sport essential.
Herbert Johnson - Crusade Poet Deep Sable Rabbit
When pursuing fine headwear brands, one needn't look much further than Herbert Johnson. Sitting comfortably under the House of Swaine umbrella, Herbert Johnson has been crafting exceptional chapeaus since 1889, most notably creating the hat donned by cinema's favourite professor turned archaeological adventurer, Indiana Jones. The Crusade Poet is a Gentleman's Journal favourite and looks just as striking in the stands at Cheltenham as it did evading Nazis in The Last Crusade.
Allbirds - Cruiser Terralux
Designed for movement and built for modern ambition, the Cruiser Terralux from sustainable footwear pioneers, Allbirds, is a lesson in comfort and understated style. Created in partnership with Modern Meadow, this model utilises synthetic biology and material science to bring bio fabricated leather, INNOVERA, to footwear for the first time. With the same properties as traditional leather (actually, a little lighter and stronger) the INNOVERA upper has been crafted from plant-based proteins, biopolymers and post-consumer waste to complete this hardy and eco-conscious shoe.
Savoir Beds - The Alex Bed
Investments in good beds and good shoes are rarely regretted. If you're not in one, you're likely in the other (as the old adage goes), so why settle for less than the best? Savoir Beds has been crafting some of the finest beds in the world since 1905, so knows a thing or two about heritage comfort. Though its range is vast, The Alex Bed stands out as a contemporary interpretation of the brand's design language and its distinct sloping curves and clean lines make it the clear front runner in any bedroom upgrade.
Oliver Brown - Suede Eaton Jacket
Constructed in the brand's refined Eaton cut and crafted in the finest, supple suede, this jacket from Oliver Brown is a head-turning blazer for the cool, dry days ahead. Cut from meticulously selected leather hide (in order to preserve its natural drape and character), this chestnut piece promises to become an early spring staple, pairing wonderfully with casual ensembles and more formal tailoring.
