Full-bodied and with a tawny appearance, this rich and complex red offers sweet spice notes from the oak and fragrant vanilla. The nose boasts stewed fruit, black cherry, cinnamon, cloves, white pepper and liquorice. With a delicious, sumptuous long finish, the high acidity means that this will pair well with stronger meats, game and salty dishes.

With its mystical aromas of lavender and quince, this full-bodied white has a dry palate of mango and pear. Californian vintner Randall Grahm is famed for letting his wild yeasts get on with their fermentation without interference – and the natural flavours come through. Pair this oak barrel-aged treat with crayfish with ginger and sea vegetables.

Named after a renowned cellarmaster from the middle of the 19th Century, this pale pink coloured wine has an intensity of red fruit flavours that belies its delicate colouring. With floral and citrus notes, this super dry rosé would be perfect with any grilled meat flavour accompanied by the herbs of the region.

An intriguing pale pink rosé with strawberry, white pear and floral aromas, the Miraval is crisp and complex on the palate and best enjoyed now whilst still young and fresh. Lightly chilled, it makes an excellent aperitif, or will match with many Provençal style dishes, particularly fish, vegetables and salads.

Exclusive to Waitrose, this crisp elegant champagne has citrus and grapefruit flavours with delicate biscuity notes. A fine mousse complements the fullness on the palate and culminates in a long, zesty finish. The perfect choice for celebrating; serve as an apéritif, with smoked salmon canapés or fish and seafood dishes.
