Dancing at the Doghouse party closes Glorious Goodwood

The Qatar Goodwood Festival bowed out with an exclusive DJ set and some greyhound racing

Last year, when we interviewed Highclere Stud’s Jake Warren, he told us of an exciting new experience at the Qatar Goodwood Festival: ’I’m involved in a brilliant new event at Glorious Goodwood, called Dancing at the Doghouse – where we bring eight greyhounds down to Goodwood House and race them on the lawn after the last day of the festival. It’s absolutely epic, and we put on a huge party afterwards!’

Last month, the event rolled around once more, and Gentleman’s Journal were there to see it first hand. Featured in the Society pages of our latest issue, covered by Hollywood icon Jeff Goldblum, Dancing at the Doghouse took place at the Kennels – a central clubhouse for all of the Goodwood Estate’s Sporting Members.

But, whilst enthusiasts of horseracing, golf, motor sport or aviation usually gather in the venue, it was the turn of the dog racers. With guests including Elenore Decaux, Esi Neubert, Zoe Warren and Lauren Parks, the event helmed by Lord Settrington and Jake Warren closed the Qatar Goodwood festival with a bang once again.

The evening’s highlights included sponsored greyhound racing, which, in line with the Magnolia Cup, hoped to have raised £150,000 for the charity Place2Be. Isaac Ferry also took to his decks after top Ska band Chainska Brassika to bring the night to a suitably sporting end.
