The best-dressed men at Cannes Film Festival 2024 (so far)

From Adam Driver in a Burberry drip to Omar Sy taking things easy

Held down at La Croisette de Cannes, since 1946 the Cannes Film festival has seen the likes of King Charles, Austin Butler, Timothée Chalamet and Leonardo Dicaprio flex their style chops on the famous red carpet.

Sure, year on year some guests adhere to the famously strict dress code (mandatory black tie jackets and ties for men on the red carpet) and some just…don't. And that's whaty makes Cannes so exciting. The clothes, arguably, steal the limelight away from the big films, which is why everyone is there in the first place, right?

And this year it's promising to be just as big...

Adam Driver

Adam Driver, who is in Cannes to promote big screen epic Megalopolis, wore a white wool silk tuxedo jacket, white silk shirt and black wool tailored trousers and bow tie, all curtesy of Burberry. A Piaget Polo Date on his wrist. Old school Cannes style.

Omar Sy

At the photocalls, anything goes. And actor Omar Sy kept things casual cool in a cream sailor jacket and slightly-flared trousers (he later slipped into a full Louis Vuitton DB tux). One to watch.

Francis Ford Coppola

Francis Ford Coppola does really big movie epics. He also does really nice colour combos when it comes to low-key dressing. Bravo, sir.

Barry Keoghan

Dressed by Burberry, Barry Keoghan suited up in a black collar tailored jacket, trousers and a white pleated plastron shirt.

Joe Alwyn

Joe Alwyn, who is in Cannes for the premiere of his hotly-anticipated film Kinds of Kindness, suited up in a shawl lapel tuxedo and subtle boot-leg trousers.

Franz Rogowski

German actor and choreographer Franz Rogowski attended the world premiere of Andrea Arnold's movie Bird in a black Lanvin wool tuxedo.

Ben Whishaw

British actor Ben Whishaw chose Bottega Veneta for his time on the Cannes red carpet. A wool gabardine suit, white tank top and Haddock Intrecciato loafers did the job.

Joe Alwyn

And for general milling around Cannes, Alwyn wore a selection of low-key (but super impactful IYKYK) Bottega Veneta outfits.

Sebastian Stan

Wearing Amiri, Sebastian Stan brought some sunshine to the temperamental Riviera.

Lucien Laviscount

British actor Lucien Laviscount parked up inn a contemporary Dolce & Gabanna suit, which he complemented with a shiny IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar 42.

Omar Si

Also in Amiri, Frech actor Omar Sy went classic to attend the Trophée Chopard at Cannes Film Festival.

Lukas Dhont

Belgian film director and screenwriter Lukas Dhont is consistent with his style, and at the La Plus Precieuse Des Marchandises premiere he served up a classic fit by way of Bottega Veneta.
