Blackacre releases the “Origins” Collection

Following an expedition to Colombia’s fabled emerald mines, British jeweller Blackacre reveals The Origins Collection: a celebration of craftsmanship, provenance, and the brand’s journey from raw gemstone to refined masterpiece.

One of our favourite fine jewellery brands, Blackacre, last night unveiled The Origins Collection. A collection that will showcase the vision and traceability of this British B-Corp luxury brand.

For those of you who don’t know, Blackacre has been quietly building a reputation by creating bespoke jewellery over the years. Now touted as one of the best young jewellers in the world this is a brand hot on the lips of those in the know. Founded by Sam Stirrat, Blackacre has always been driven by a fascination with the stories behind every stone. The brand’s unique approach invites clients into the journey of their piece, from the raw gemstone’s discovery to the final handcrafted masterpiece. Working exclusively with recycled precious metals and responsibly sourced gemstones, Blackacre has established itself as a pioneer in sustainable luxury.

The Origins Collection encapsulates the brand’s expedition-led ethos and its unwavering commitment to ethically sourced, rare gemstones. It also represents a significant milestone as the brand’s first major collection.

Origins Muzo Ring

The project that inspired the collection follows an ambitious expedition in February 2025, when Stirrat and his team travelled to Colombia to seek emeralds from the legendary mines of Muzo and Chivor. The journey, captured by the production team of royal filmmaker Will Warr, documents not only the remote beauty of the Colombian landscape but also the meticulous craftsmanship within Blackacre’s central London atelier. The resulting film traces every chapter of this process, bringing to life the deep narrative that defines each creation.

As its name suggests, Origins celebrates both Blackacre’s beginnings as a jeweller and the natural origins of its gemstones. The collection is composed of the Chivor Ring, the Muzo Earrings, and the Muzo Ring. From these foundations, Blackacre offers two distinct yet complementary paths for clients, both rooted in its ethos of made-to-order craftsmanship and limited production.

The first path is through limited edition designs featuring exceptional and rare gemstones, created in small numbers to preserve exclusivity. This Is a first for the brand as it will be the first time Blackacre clients can purchase ready-to-wear designs. These ready-to-wear pieces include creations set with an unheated Paraiba tourmaline from Brazil, an unheated pink sapphire from Sri Lanka, and rare yellow Zimmi diamonds.

The second path clients can take is to embark on a bespoke commission, adapting any design and selecting from an extraordinary palette of gemstones and metals with fully documented provenance. Each bespoke piece is made to order, ensuring it reflects the wearer’s individuality.

Origins has been three years in the making

For Stirrat, the collection is the culmination of both professional ambition and personal reflection. “Origins has been three years in the making, but its true beginning stems from a childhood pastime of collecting pebbles on beaches and in streams,” he shares. “From an early age, I have been fascinated by nature and storytelling. This collection is deeply personal; it’s about sharing the journeys behind each piece and creating jewellery that reflects the uniqueness of every individual who wears it.”

Blackacre offers something more enduring: transparency, craftsmanship, and connection. Every piece tells a story not just of the earth it came from, but of the hands and hearts that shaped it.
