These are the best Sunday Roasts you can get delivered in London

We're ready for the weekend, with our pick of the best Sunday Roasts you can get delivered right to your door...

So tell us: how have your locked-down Sunday roasts been going? And be honest. Have you been trying your hand at a roast chicken — perhaps with some lemon and herbs, or a little garlic herb butter? Maybe it’s been all about the beef; a juicy roast with all the trimmings? Or have you really been pushing the (gravy) boat out, serving up a rosemary-studded rack of lamb every weekend?

What’s that? None of the above? We’re not surprised. Most of us haven’t even seen a decent Yorkshire pudding since last March and, unless you live with a dozen Sunday dinner enthusiasts, making a massive meal every Sunday simply doesn’t feel worth the effort. Thankfully, there’s a way to indulge in a bountiful Sunday lunch without any of the hassle of preparing it all yourself — just get it delivered. Below, we’ve rounded up the best Sunday roasts you can have delivered to your home in London. Tuck in!

Hide, Mayfair

We’ve spoken before about the wonderful Hide at Home menu, delivered within a seven mile radius; but the options for a Hide at Home Sunday roast are nothing short of spectacular. Why not try the Roast Goosnargh Chicken, complete with chestnut, black truffle and wet polenta, found in the restaurant’s ‘Mains’ section? Or how about a crispy pork belly and homemade black pudding option, in this weekend’s ‘Set Menu’?

We have no doubt that, whatever you choose, you’ll enjoy that decadent, indulgent meal you’ve been dreaming of all through lockdown. Hide don’t stop at meals, either. Each delivery option comes with suggestions for the perfect champagne or wine accompaniments — straight from Ollie Dabbous himself. It really is the whole package.

Parlour Kensal, Kensal Green

Your quintessential British gastropub, Parlour Kensal offers a mouth-watering range of Sunday roast options, with the chance to pre-order for delivery, or pick-up in person. The restaurant is ready for all palettes with their Sirloin of Beef, Pork Belly and even a vegan Mushroom & Potato Pie; with each of these traditional options delivered with a set of instructions for failsafe cooking.

And, this Sunday, Parlour Kensal is offering the Mother’s Day feast of your (and presumably your mother’s) dreams: a Beef Wellington feast for two, with a starter of wild garlic soup and freshly baked soda bread; the main event, with an accompanying potato gratin, among other accoutrements; and a Rose, Geranium & Lemon Trifle to finish the whole thing off. We know. Our stomachs are rumbling, too.

Jones & Sons, Dalston

Jones & Sons have long been on our radar as one of the coolest restaurants in East London. And, now, they’ve surpassed even our sky-high expectations with this Jones at Home delivery service. As Sunday roasts go, it’s got to be one of the hottest tickets around; a three-course extravaganza that you can build yourself. Personally, we’d go for the Cod Croquette to start, the Slow Roast Gloucester Old Spot Pork Belly for the main, and the Pear Crumble to finish up — but that’s just us.

And this is another team that has decided to dedicate an entire menu to Mother’s Day; featuring plenty more delicious options and an accompanying bottle of prosecco. They need pre-orders by 3:00pm on Saturday, however, so we’d recommend jumping on the Jones & Sons website now to avoid any culinary disappointment.

Davies and Brook, Mayfair

That’s right: this famously refined Claridge’s restaurant is delivering the luxury goods with its Davies and Brook “To Go” service. The two options come in elegantly packaged ‘To Go’ boxes, and both are perfect for the decadent Sunday roast you know you deserve. Choose between the Roasted Sutton Hoo Chicken, stuffed with Foie Gras and Black Truffle, and Salt Baked Lamb Shoulder (we know, it’s a tough decision). Both come with a wide selection of sides, as well as a rhubarb tart and a selection of cocktails.

Unfortunately, they don’t have any delivery slots available for upcoming Sunday. But, the good news is that the meals themselves don’t come cooked — and are instead delivered with instructions. So why not order the day before, pop it in the fridge and heat it to piping hot on Sunday afternoon?

The Quality Chop House, Farringdon

Yet another delectable menu. The meat experts of The Quality Chop House have launched the QCH@Home delivery service — delivered within 15km and with some lip-smacking Sunday roast options. We’ve personally got our eyes on the Slow-Cooked Beef Cheek Feasting Menu. Options for the first course include smoked cod’s roe and duck and rabbit terrine, while the beefy main event is itself preceded by a venison cavatelli pasta course. To finish, a blood orange and olive oil cake.

Whichever option you choose, you likely won’t be able to move afterward — but it will have been worth every last bite. The meal kits come with cooking instructions, so you can test your table legs at whatever time of your choosing. Just be sure to pre-order by 3pm on Monday if you want to sample these delicacies the following weekend.

Hawksmoor Air Street, Mayfair

We’ve waxed lyrical about Hawksmoor before; but now, we can’t wait to sample a Sunday Roast from the Hawksmoor at Home delivery service. Hawksmoor are renowned for their exemplary take on traditional British fare, and these Sunday roasts are no exception. The four-person option includes a 1kg beef rump (500g if it’s for two of you), crackling roast potatoes, buttered greens and, of course, the fluffy Yorkshire puddings without which no beef-oriented roast would be complete.

It’s available to order on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, or you can pick up from Air Street itself. There’s even an option to add temperature probes to your feast, to make sure it’s still piping hot by the time you get it home.

No. Fifty Cheyne, Chelsea

The wonderful folk over at No. Fifty Cheyne have done it again (and by ‘it’, we mean ‘provided an exquisite menu packed to the brim with tantalising dishes’). There’s something for everyone on this Sunday roast delivery menu: carnivores might opt for the Grilled Hereford Beef Chateaubriand, or the Roast Sutton Hoo Chicken Breast and Thigh; while herbivores may lean more towards the Roast Cauliflower Steak Bundle.

Whatever your roasted preference, each option comes with mouth-watering trimmings: think Yorkshire puddings (vegan options available; they really have got you covered), roast potatoes and an abundance of seasonal vegetables. This team has won awards for its Sunday Lunches — not surprising, to look at the plates — so we’d recommend snapping up one of these delicious options while you can.

The Regent, Balham

A favourite haunt of South West Londoners, this dependable pub has continued to stay one step ahead of the curve. The Regent team have got you covered for all your Sunday roast needs — and the best part is, they’ll deliver it straight to your door, piping hot and ready to eat. We’d recommend sampling the Swingers Roast, for those who can never choose between chicken, beef and pork; or maybe the Ultimate Roast Experience for Two, which comes with two Bloody Good Marys and Sticky Toffee Puddings. It’s the epitome of indulgence — just as a Sunday roast should be.

For a piping hot delivery, they can send it to you any time between 12:00pm and 6:00pm every Sunday; and there’s an option to pre-order during the week, or order on demand on the day if you’re feeling particularly spontaneous. All you need to do is lay the table (and maybe invest in a pair of stretchy jeans).

Rotunda, King’s Cross

These guys know what they’re doing when it comes to Sunday roasts. And we’re not surprised, given their considerable meat expertise. All the beef and lamb is sourced direct from the restaurant’s very own Corneyside Farm in Northumberland, and it is hung and butchered on-site in King’s Cross. The care taken shows — because the Rotunda Sunday roasts frankly look divine.

Appealing to every meaty taste, Rotunda has you covered with chicken, beef or pork (plus the trimmings, of course — they don’t do things by halves). And, every Sunday roast order even comes with a bottle of red or white to compliment your delicious meal. Like we said: they know what they’re doing. Be sure to order by 5pm on Tuesday for delivery (or collection) the following weekend, and prepare for a feast.

Townsend, Whitechapel

This East London favourite has truly outdone itself with this Sunday Roast shop menu. Delivered in exquisitely packaged recipe boxes, there’s some fun involved for those who fancy a bit more of a challenge; if you select the roast beef option (it’s got our vote), you’ll get the meat, along with goose fat potatoes and other delectable sides; and ingredients to make your very own Yorkshire puddings from scratch. What’s a feast without a little creativity? (Don’t worry; Head Chef Joe Fox provides instructions for anyone feeling flummoxed.)

These generous folk will also deliver to any London postcode on Saturdays — as long as you’ve ordered before 8pm the previous Thursday. If you live on mainland UK, you’ll get your order on Friday; if you’ve ordered before 8pm on Wednesday. It’s not as complicated as it sounds, we promise; and as Sunday roasts go, you really couldn’t do much better.
