The early bird catches the worm, so they say. Yet, chances are that many out there have left the present-purchasing to the last-chance moments of the retail window. It’s a forgivable thing, really, given that the past few weeks have been rammed with harsh deadlines, a hurricane of festive dos and the severe hangovers that ensue. So, to help those scramblers navigate this integral week and get everything sorted for placement under the Nordmann fir, we’ve turned to one of our favourite menswear labels, MR MARVIS, to help us put together a small edit of style essentials that make for fine gifts to give – the type of things that say elegant rather than eleventh hour. Here’s what to shortlist…
If you’re dipping into the MR MARVIS portfolio, it’d be a massive oversight to not peruse the items that’ve helped build up the label’s reputation: trousers. For a key winter piece, there’s The Heavy Classics, produced in a timeless navy colourway and given an extra touch of sophistication via some front pleats. In cases where the receiver is a forward-planner, then The Five-pockets – a denim trouser that, in this case, is designed in a spring-appropriate shade of beige – will do the trick. If the idea is to let them completely unwind, then plump for The Easies, which, as the name suggests, is an elegant set of sweatpants.
