This is the most attractive trait a man can have

A study released today has revealed that the old adage is, in fact, untrue

A study conducted by University College London has revealed today that the old adage that ‘nice guys finish last’ is, in fact, untrue. Psychologists have found that generosity – even if you have relatively little to give – is far more attractive to the opposite sex than having huge amounts of money. The study found that in general, we place willingness and the ability to help other over material and financial wealth. It’s been suggested that the reason for this is because wealth isn’t necessarily permanent, whereas a personality trait is.

While the study showed that these are the values that members of the opposite sex looked for, it’s also true that we look for this generosity most strongly in social situations, with our the work colleagues we choose to associate ourselves with and also in our friends. When looking for potential partners, members of the opposite sex will typically prioritise a willingness to help in a partner or a friend – particularly when wealth is unstable.

Conventional social theory suggests that people who are only concerned with their own wellbeing and how they make money should rightly pick a partner who will also be able to give them the most, with no concern of generosity. But the study shows that people are actually willing to forego a substantial amount of money earned by a partner in place of someone who is caring and fair. So, put down your gold card and start learning how to be gauge generosity.
