le-louvre-660

During this 90 minute program, you will be enlightened about the history behind the incredible French institution of the Louvre. The understanding of the Louvre’s background is necessary to truly grasp France’s story. You tour guide will be Andrew Hussey, a paris-based writer, who will bring history to life. Masterpieces from Veronese, Rubens, David, Chardin, Delacroix, and Gericault will be explored and analysed, as well as the masterpiece of the architecture of the Louvre itself. From a fortress in medieval days, to a palace during the renaissance, then transformed into the home of kings and emperors, and now, a museum. No need to get your passport for this cultural excursion, you need only your television and remote control.

What To Watch in the Cinema – Arbitrage

Arbitrage-660

Arbitrage proves that what we see isn’t always just what we get. In this suspense thriller, Richard Gere plays Robert Miller, a New York hedge-fund legend. It seems that his life is ideal. At the age of 60, he has it all. Success, money, and a good family, are all attributes of his “perfect life.” In reality, he is very much over his head. Attempting to conceal past fraudulent happenings from his business partners, he tries to rush his last big deal before retirement. To add another skeleton to Mr. Miller’s closet, he is also having an affair. Just when he thinks he may get away with it all, a bloody night puts all of his plans on hold. Now, while worried about protecting his family and his bank account, Robert Miller must also worry about washing the blood from his hands. Will he walk away scott free, or will he pay for his sins?

Nothing says romance like a gorgeous view by the water. This charming restaurant is located next to the river, overlooking the Thames with an incredible view of the trendy Shard, historic Tower of London, and the floating boats bobbing about in the surrounding area. With a nautical vibe, it would only make sense to order seafood! Boasting their fresh food, fine wine, and craft beers, you are sure to find something on the menu here that strikes your fancy. The Oyster Shed currently isn’t open on weekends, so Friday will be the best bet for your weekend date.
