How to turn your life around before 2017
Don’t sugarcoat it gents, 2016 has been a shocker – but there's still time to turn it around

Don’t sugarcoat it gents, 2016 has been a shocker. There’s been Bowie, there’s been Brexit, there’s been Trump and there’s been Rickman and there’s been Cohen – and that’s before you even take into account the personal turmoil that’s cemented this year in many’s eyes to be the worst in their personal living history. But there’s still time to turn it around, gentlemen. There are a matter of weeks left before the end of the year, so here’s how to make 2016 count.

If you’re suffering from a fractured relationship of any kind, you need to fix it before the year’s out. Whether that involves being the bigger person and addressing an argument you’ve been ignoring or breaking up from a relationship you’re not fully happy within, you need to make the change that you’ve been putting off. No one wants to enter the new year with bad blood so make sure you fix things as soon as you can.

Rather than sit at home watching re-runs of Narcos for the last week of December, use your accumulated holiday doing something that you’ve promised yourself you would do. Whether that’s taking a trip to somewhere 2 hours drive away or going to a country that takes you a day to get to, make sure you take the trip you’ve been planning on taking. There’s nothing like experiencing a new place to invigorate the mind and put you in good stead for the upcoming year.

December is historically a terrible time to try and find a new job, but if you’re unhappy in your current position then you need to do something about it. Whether that’s something as simple as talking to your boss about your work-load or as important as re-evaluating your entire career, there’s no better time to sit down and start to think about the direction you want to take your life next year. Don’t make any irrational decisions, take time and make sure you’re always staying true to what you legitimately want to do.

If you’ve been talking about getting suit made, buying a bespoke pair of shoes, investing in a watch or finally buying that classic car you’ve had your eye on, get to it before the year is out. There’s nothing as fulfilling as saving enough money to purchase something that’s going to last you a lifetime so if you’ve been thinking about it for years, go ahead and do it.

Don’t wait until midway through January to join a gym or go vegan, make the change now and we guarantee that come January 1st, your liver, your headache and your body will thank us. Getting your trainers laced up and your legs onto the treadmill will make the dreaded and inevitable post-Christmas detox/sudden fitness panic/need to shrink your waistline much easier.
