This new watercraft will blow your mind
Words: Gentleman's Journal
Described by its creators as a ‘sports car for the water’, the Quadrofoil brings a whole new meaning to high-performance. Its cutting-edge design features C-Foil technology which, using buoyancy force, elevates the vessel above the surface of the water and leaves it to glide along on four specially-shaped fins for a sensational ‘flying’ feel experience.
The yachting industry is one that is constantly pushing the limits of design and technology at every level, from world famous superyachts to super-fast tenders. The watercraft market is no different and the concept for the Quadrofoil grabbed media attention when it was unveiled in 2012 as the world’s first fully electric hydrofoiling PWC. While its unique, ultra-modern lines ensure it turns heads wherever it goes, it is the innovative approach to eco-friendly water travel combined with exceptional comfort levels and functionality that set it apart from the crowd.

There are two versions to choose from, the basic Q2A and the limited edition first series Q2S with prices starting from 15,000 EUR and 22,500 EUR respectively. Crafted with lightweight composite and hollow hull, each model is 3 metres long and weighs in at just 100kg. Power varies from a QE 3.7 kW electric motor and 4.5 kWh batteries driving top speeds of 16 knots on the Q2A to a 5.5 kW motor and longer lasting 10 kWh batteries on the Q2S to reach 21 knots.
Electric power fused with the hydrofoiling and patented steering technology means that the Quadrofoil is whisper quiet and impressively agile as it travels, producing no emissions and very little water resistance and therefore a silky-smooth ride. These low-impact results not only make it kind to the environment but perfect for exploring far-flung cruising regions such as remote lakes and rivers as well as protected marine areas.
The first batch of the limited edition series is set to hit the water this month so if you want to own one then all the information can be found on the website at quadrofoil.com
