Tech – Izzi orbit for iphone 5

The Gentleman’s Journal has to admit that this does look suspiciously like something that one would find in Splinter Cell on the main character’s face. But we were very impressed by the marketing on it. Phrases such as ‘Aircraft Grade Aluminium’, ‘Dual Layer Protection’ and ‘Three Lenses’ prove that to get a man to focus on a product all you need to do is talk to him like he was a hyperactive nine-year-old. Just ask Gillette how well it works: POWER FUSION STEALTH anyone? In man-speak that means MADE OF WIN (capital letters included)!

However, the marketing was not the only thing we were impressed by. Considering that the only well-known smart phone zooms are one that make the device look like it’s trying to compensate for its owner’s short comings (ahem!) this is a welcome addition. iZZi is also a bit better than the competition. First, there is a patented ‘Peripheral Motion Lock Technology.’ Now, this might sound like gibberish but it allows you to choose which of the three lenses you want at the flick of a switch. The lenses come in three flavours: 180° Fish Eye, a 67x Wide Angle and a 2x Telephoto lens. You don’t need to rotate it either as the iZZi device allows you to use the switch for seamless transitioning. These lenses are protected by a very cool aluminium case which you can order in different colours. Overall there is very little to complain about with this case. It protects your iPhone (looking good whilst doing this as well), provides very good pictures and is easy to use. Just put the iPhone in and play. Can’t get simpler than that!
