Style – light knitwear

Words: Violet

As the evenings start to draw in, our minds turn to the beginning of autumn. It’s still August, but there was a definite nip in the air this morning. And although autumn can’t help but remind us of that heart-sinking ‘going back to school’ feeling, there’s lots to look forward to as well. The shooting season kicks off in earnest in autumn, as does the chance to catch up with your mates after the fractured nature of summer. There are long walks to be had, bonfires to be built and long evenings by the fire to be enjoyed. Chestnuts will be ready for roasting and the low, hazy mists of early autumn will lie on the ground and clothes will have to incorporate another layer.

With this in mind, we have picked some of our favourite lightweight knits to ease you into the new season. Right now, these jumpers are ideal to pull over a t-shirt or shirt when the cool of the evening kicks in as you walk home from work, or sit outside at a bar. In a few weeks, they’ll be perfect day wear. And, not long after that, there’ll be worn under tick, down-filled coats with gloves and hats and scarves. They are stylish and versatile, and are on our autumn wishlist already.
