We’ve recently become acquainted with Willow Classic Reels founded by US businessman Chris Reister who creates intricate, precision-designed and handcrafted one of a kind heirloom reels. Clients can request bespoke design by submitting preferences on patterns and inlays to ensure exclusivity while casting off. This understandably makes them very sought after. The permanent collection to get a spot of inspiration from includes Maple Burl Inlay, Tribal Etch – created using anodised aluminium etched with tribal patterns and Black Lacquer which is made from aircraft aluminium and hand-pressed with delicate white flowers.

Prices range from between £300 to £500 but it’s for these completely individual pieces which will be collector’s items in a couple of years’ time and a lifetime of pride and enjoyment to avid fishermen.
