The most flattering swim shorts on the market
Words: Charlie Thomas
Staying stylish on the beach is not as tricky as you might think. Once you trade in the flip flops and board shorts, things start to improve drastically. If you want to really impress though, investing in a pair of tailored swim shorts that look as good off the beach as they do on it is a smart move. For some inspiration, here are the most flattering swim shorts on the market.
ORLEBAR BROWN

With a print of Slim Aarons’ image of the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, there’s a lot going on here to distract from any unsightly beer bellies up above. Orlebar Brown shorts also come with side adjusters, so you can find the perfect fit.

MARKS & SPENCER

On the lower end of the price spectrum are these swim shorts designed in collaboration with David Gandy for M&S. They too feature an adjustable waistband, as well as a coin pocket and slanted side pockets – nice touches for just £25.

FRESCOBOL CARIOCA

Frescobol Carioca make some of the finest swim shorts on the market. These ones are called ‘Copacabana’, which is apt, considering the print on these is inspired by the walkway on the eponymous Brazilian beach.

KINGSMAN

Created as part of Mr Porter’s Kingsman collection, these shorts are constructed in the same tried and tested Orlebar Brown fashion, except they feature individual touches such as a emerald-tone colour and rose gold accents.

PAUL SMITH

Perfectly cut, these Paul Smith shorts are dominated by a Havana print, but boast intricate details such as a zip-fastened rear pocket and a hidden elasticated rear.
