Now that we are firmly into the year and with spring in full swing, you’d be forgiven for letting your New Years resolution to get fit slip beneath the way side. That’s why we are imparting 6 simple steps to keep up your motivation this month…

FIND A FITNESS BUDDY, Having a friend or co-worker to work out with is the best way to keep motivated. If you or they are looking like bailing on that spinning class then you can motivate each other to stick to it. Equally, a bit of healthy competition will further boost that work-out.
PUT IT IN YOUR SCHEDULE, Might sound simple, but in our ever busy days of trying to balance work and play we often simply loose the time to work-out. So, instead of trying to squeeze in a run or gym session when you have a gap in your diary, every sunday evening actually schedule in the times you are going to work out and then plan the rest of your week around this.
CHANGE UP YOUR ROUTINE, One of the most common reasons that we fall off our fitness schedule is because of boredom. Each week try and do something new, whether that be signing up to a different fitness class or going for a swim instead of a run, keeping things new will keep up your motivation no end.
SET A GOAL, Having something to work towards will automatically keep you more motivated. Either sign up to a half marathon, or maybe a Tough-Mudder, that way the pressure will be on to keep up your routine and reach those goals. Remember to keep them realistic though as there is little more de-motivating than working towards something completely unrealistic.
MAKE A GOOD PLAYLIST, Whether it’s ‘eye of the tiger’ or some serious drum and bass that gets you pumped up, be sure to build a big playlist of the likes to keep you going when things are getting harder.
KEEP IT CONVENIENT, Be sure to make your fitness routine as easy as possibly in terms of logistics. Do not join a gym that is a 45 minute bus journey from your home. Instead, make sure that whatever you are doing is as convenient as possible, whether that be running in your local park, or becoming a member of your office gym, all these will keep up the motivation to train.
