We take it on a case-by-case basis, but there can be a provincial charm in unconventional glassware. Constructed in the brand’s signature jacket style, the Edward Jacket from Scottish brand, Walker Slater, is a lesson in exceptional tweed. The Borders Tweed Prince of Wales Check iteration catches our gaze the most, and the squared finish paired with a structured shoulder, broader lapel and nipped waist creates an athletic silhouette, whilst maintaining traditional proportions. Worsted-spun and blended with fine merino wool, this Edward Jacket also allows for optimum warmth, softness and comfort, whilst being lighter and more flexible than customary tweed.

The fourth release in The Macallan’s annual A Night on Earth series, A Night on Earth: The First Light has been created to honour the arrival of the first light in New Zealand, marking the arrival of the New Year. Inspired by one of the first sunrises of the year, and the vibrant flavours native to New Zealand, A Night on Earth: The First Light’s flavour profile offers unquestionable warmth and delicate sweetness with notes of berry compote and toasted marshmallows on the palate, and Manuka honey on the nose. The brand teamed up with Wellington-based artist, Bonnie Brown, for the bottle and packaging design, evoking new beginnings, the commemoration of special moments, and The Macallan’s commitment to craft and creativity.

November and December demand a lot from the man on the go. And though we loathe the term ‘silly season’ (at least until we’re a couple of Old Fashioneds down) it’s not a period to enter lightly, and it is ample preparation that provides the best likelihood of success. Shorter days and cooler nights needn’t mean that all colour goes out of the window, and we’re happy to report that amongst the autumnal hues, there’s still room for a little pink in our lives. A mix of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier grapes, Billecart-Salmon’s trail-blazing Le Rosé (first created in the 1960s before rosé was a thing) is balanced with a delicate palate of strawberries and raspberries, with a very faint hint of spice and citrus on the finish.

A decade after first hitting the market and ushering in a new age for immensely stylish, yet undeniably high-performing headphones, Meze Audio has launched the second generation of its venerated 99 Classics. While the brand has stayed close to the renowned silhouette and aesthetics, it’s the tech within that has received a vast upgrade, boasting increased ear cup volume, precision acoustic sealing, enhanced baffle architecture and an ear pad redesign to ensure this model remains sleek and sustainable for years to come.
