Barrington Ayre Shirtmaker & Tailor Ltd with Michael Vaughan and Robbie Savage launched ShirtSmart in the sophisticated and stylish setting of Century Soho – they have answered our prayers with this online bespoke shirt subscription service.
So, what does this mean? – Well, as Tom Wharton so accurately stated in his speech – ShirtSmart is providing the answer for men who have a hectic schedule. He highlighted that the likelihood of picking up a tape measure and measuring ourselves to have a shirt adjusted or tailored is frankly very very slim – the result being that the tape measure is going to stay neglected and remain where it has always been.
Not necessarily saying men are lazy – more that in this modern society we require the flexibility to order and buy products whenever is suitable, whether that be on the move on your iPhone or iPad, or at any time of day.
The elegant Shirtettes were on hand to assist all of the guests with measuring and inputting those all important figures into their trustworthy iPads. They also explained how the ShirtSmart system works and what fabric samples, collars and cuffs we could choose between to create our own unique style.
Guests included Richard Arnold, Dan Walker, Dean West and Jo Webb. One guest did admit to trying to ‘breath in’ whilst being measured by one of the charming Shirtettes – not really recommended when the result of this will be you struggling to do up your buttons on a Monday morning.
Of course the launch of ShirtSmart was accompanied with Champagne on entrance and delicious Truffle Black Moth Vodka Cocktails which continuously flowed around the room throughout the evening. To add to the ShirtSmart experience, canapés to suit everyone including mini sausage rolls, tuna sashimi coated in sesame seeds and, for the sweet tooth, caramel snappers topped with a delicate layer of chocolate were on offer – they didn’t last long.
