Beerfest

Not sure what to do after work today? Like beer? If the answer is yes to either of these questions, you need to get your sorry ass down to Guildhall Yard for the City of London Beerfest.

Based on the famous German beer festivals, and the first event of its type in London, the beerfest is going to be a quaffer’s paradise. 25 breweries will be showcasing their wares to an adoring public, and there’ll also be British food stalls, a display of coopering (that’s barrel-making to you) and live music. Oh yes, and the Young’s brewery dray horses. How delightfully medieval. You can almost see Robin Hood and his band of Merry Men swinging around a maypole and cheering on the jousting as they swill ale and recite poetry. It kicks off at 15.30 and entry is £10, which will get you a strip of beer tokens and a free commemorative glass. Make sure you don’t drop it.

The City Beerfest, with all proceeds going to the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, is at Guildhall Yard, London EC2 this afternoon. Visit eventbribe.co.uk for more information.
