The Pick: the only speaker a gentleman needs
Words: Hamish Roy
Designed to be captivating before it’s even turned on, the A9 is something of an objet d’art – ‘like a beautiful piece of furniture’, as B&O put it. Standing proud on its shapely wooden legs, this isn’t something to be hidden away. In fact, although placing it in the corner makes the most sense, the A9 features technology that allows it to adapt to the room, ensuring an excellent aural experience regardless of where you choose to put it.
The A9’s sound is rich and complex, with crisp highs, well-defined middle tones and surprisingly powerful, yet tightly controlled bass. It’s a completely digital system, which means that you can control everything via AirPlay, DLNA or Bluetooth. In fact, you might want to consider buying two; Bang and Olufsen’s BeoLink Multiroom technology allows you to integrate other B&O products, turning them in to one wirelessly connected system. You can even play different music in different rooms.
