Our beloved Boris Johnson has been answering the tweets of his constituents over the last few hours and they’ve had an unusually unpopular slant. The Q&A session came after Andy Coulson’s conviction in the phone hacking trial at the Old Bailey, confirming accusations that the now Mayor of London once dismissed as “codswallop”, and after recent revelations that Boris has bought three water cannons for the Metropolitan Police. The combination of poor timing and Twitter’s penchant for rabble rousing has led to an onslaught of jokes, jibes and jarring political comments over the course of the afternoon – here’s our pick of the best.
