Ascot unveils their definitive Winter racing lookbook

Ascot’s winter season steps into the spotlight with a new Jumps Season Lookbook, celebrating cold-weather style through heritage fabrics, modern tailoring and the quiet romance of dressing well in the colder months.

Ascot in winter has a character all of its own. The muted thrum of hooves on cold ground, the draw of breath in the sharp air, the quiet choreography of coats, boots, and scarves gathered against the season. It is a world away from the technicolour dazzle of the summer flat season, yet no less stylish for its restraint. With the release of its third Jumps Season Lookbook, Ascot makes a confident case for the sartorial poetry of cold-weather dressing.

Launched to coincide with the beginning of the 2025/2026 Jumps season, the lookbook presents, the lookbook presents a curated vision of Autumn/Winter occasionwear that feels both rooted in heritage and entirely modern. Shot amid the understated luxury of the Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire, it showcases fashion that values practicality and versatility as much as beauty, clothing designed not only for the racecourse, but for winter weddings, festive gatherings, and the softly lit occasions that punctuate the colder months.

The hand behind this vision is London stylist and vintage specialist Alice Hare, returning for her second year. Her intention is clear: to challenge the assumption that racing style belongs solely to the sunlit days of summer. “For many, racing fashion is seen as a summer affair,” she says. “I hope the Jumps Season Lookbook challenges that, showcasing winter racing as just as rich in sartorial drama. The pieces were chosen to inspire winter event dressing and are designed to be wardrobe mainstays beyond the races. While practical, they’re also bold, story-driven pieces meant to spark conversation and carry meaning across generations.” That sense of lineage is woven through the collection, quite literally, in the vintage Hermès ties from Hare’s grandfather-in-law, worn by several models as quiet tributes to craftsmanship and family history.
