The Actors Set For big comebacks in 2015

The Actors Set For big comebacks in 2015

Whilst the term ‘comeback’ might imply that some of these A-Listers have been completely off the books of late, this is not in fact the case – rather some have landed dud roles, misadvised films or simply have been laying low for a year or two. Whatever the case, it’s fair to say that these four actors have been somewhat off the radar of late, yet their starring roles in certain films and TV shows due out this year are sure to propel them straight back into the limelight they deserve – whether they want it or not. So, sit tight as we take a look at a few of the actors set to have big comebacks in 2015.

TOM HARDY

, Tom Hardy rose to the attention of film-buffs (and women) the world over with with his breakthrough performance as Eames in Christopher Nolan’s Inception in 2012, the English actor scored a show-stealing role as Bane in The Dark Knight Rise in 2012, but since has remained quietly under the current. But all that is set to change as he will take once more to the big screen in the apocalyptic story of Mad Max: Fury Road taking on the lead role as Max.

COLIN FARRELL

Bad-boy of the film world, Irish-born Colin Farrell, has hit a few career bumps over the last 20 years, not least for his behaviour off screen. Phone Booth, Crazy Heart and In Bruges won him serious recognition, but there have been few stand out roles aside from this, last year proved a particular low point when Winter’s Tale proved both a critical and commercial failure. Good news for Farrell fans however, as he is setting his sights on the small screen with a starring role in True Detective this year – if it worked for McConaughey, maybe it can work for Farrell too.

ADRIAN GRENIER

Known above all for his role of fun-loving, heartthrob Vince in the acclaimed series Entourage, you’d be forgiven for not being able to name anything else this US actor has been in (FYI: he played Nate to Anne Hathaway’s Andy in The Devil Wears Prada in 2006). Much to the joy of Entourage fans the world over (of which there are millions) the highly anticipated film adaptation is set to hit the big screen this year where Grenier will return to his loveable-rogue role of Vince and surely re-ignite his fandom.

KEANU REEVES

Keanu Reeves is another much loved actor, but rarely successful on the film front especially when the critics and box office results have anything to do with it. With a string of bad luck we saw him in the less than successful Chain Reaction, Sweet November and Generation Um… and it’s fair to assume he’s been riding off the shrinking wave of The Matrix ever since. Hopefully though, Reeves’ stars are set to change as this year he’ll be taking centre stage in John Wick. Having already received immensely popular reviews in the US late last year – we’ll be booking seats early for the April release here in the UK. Knock Knock, directed by Eli Roth recently premiered to fantastic reviews at Sundance, and with further roles in The Whole Truth, and TV lead role in the new program Rain, long may this renewed success last.
