What your sunglasses say about you

Sunglasses have the ability to completely transform a look, and as such they should be approached with diligence and care. Once the sun comes out they become somewhat of an essential item, and whether you live in London or Los Angeles, you’ll find yourself wearing them a lot. Similar to your shoes and your wallet, your sunglasses give an insight into your personality. Here’s what your sunglasses say about you.

ROUND-FRAME

You have to have the right face shape to pull off round-framed sunglasses. It also takes a certain attitude to make them look good, and as such they’re usually worn by those with an overt confidence in how they look and what they wear. Round glasses give of a slight hipster-vibe too; go for a short walk through Dalston and you’ll likely see a few.

SQUARE-FRAME

Square-frames give off a serious feel, befitting of someone with an equally serious job; think analyst or banker. Typically worn with a sharp pinstripe suit, those who wear square frames mean business.

AVIATORS

sunglass - TGJ.05

Aviators are a classic sunglasses style, but those who wear them generally fall into two categories. The first is a group of people who lean to a vintage style of dress, therefore appreciating the classic style of yesteryear and embracing the history behind the iconic pilot’s shape. The second group are sheep-like beings, who can’t help but gravitate towards items of clothing worn by the masses. They will only see the inherent popularity of aviators, making them want to own them simply because everyone else does.

WRAP-AROUNDS

sunglass - TGJ.01

Whilst wrap-around sunglasses should only be worn for sporting reasons – think cycling or shooting – some people insist on wearing them casually. This is wrong, and screams of a lack of sophistication and taste. There is nothing cool about wrap-arounds; they may have been when you were eight years old, but now no. Just no.
