Colbert, Chelsea

In one of the best locations in West London, Jeremy King and Chris Corbin’s Cobert finally throws open its doors.

This corner of Sloane Square has always been an iconic location. The previous restaurant was the Oriel, which was reportedly closed down because the Landlord, The Earl of Cadogan, didn’t like the food and said the price’s were far too high. So when finding someone to take over the lease, he couldn’t of picked two better men. Jeremy King and Chris Corbin are the duo behind the Wolseley in Piccadilly, which has become a favourite among celebrities.

The duo say when designing the Colbert, they were inspired by the great French pavement cafés. They have aimed to make it an informal neighbourhood rendez-vous. The interior has been designed by none other that David Collins and features bespoke cornices, Art Nouveau decorative arches and an array of original French posters. There is no doubt that this is going to become a favourite breakfast haunt for many.

The menu will follow the french theme and will have a classic Parisian café menu running from breakfast to morning coffee through to lunch, mid-afternoon snacks and a full dinner service. Expect to find Eggs Benedict, Croques Monsieur’s, Steak Diane, Moules Marinière and Cassoulet de Canard.

What this location is perfect for is people watching and it has an essence of the Cafe de Paris about it. You can grab a newspaper and a coffee and watch the hustle and bustle of Sloane Square wizz by.

Colbert has all the elements of becoming a resounding success that will no doubt become iconic. It looks like the dynamic duo have done it again.

Colbert is now open on a preview basis with a reduced price menu. An official opening date is to be announced soon. For reservations call 020 7730 2804 or email reservations@colbertchelsea.com.
