Originally introduced to the world in the mid-1920s by the super stylish and business savvy tennis player René Lacoste, the polo shirt has transcended the sports world and become a staple in the wardrobes of men everywhere. Und genau das gelang ihm. Er reaktivierte die stillgelegten Spitzenmaschinen der Fabrik, um ein neuartiges Kettengewirk aus Baumwolle herzustellen. Es erhielt die Bezeichnung Q75 und basierte auf Sunspels ursprünglichem Baumwoll-Zellstoff Q14. Dank seiner besonders leichten Konstruktion eignete sich der Stoff ideal für Kleidungsstücke, die bei wärmerem Wetter getragen werden. Zugleich sorgte die Netzstruktur für höchste Atmungsaktivität und reduzierte so die Schweißbildung.

With Bond costume designer Lindy Hemming, the brand ensured that the Riviera Polo was fit for Craig’s 007, tailoring it to mould to his physique, while keeping those same fabrication elements to make it ideal for the warmer climes of the film’s Montenegro setting.
