The English Gentlemen at The Cabinet War Rooms, Chivas and Savile Row

Tuesday night saw the first event hosted by the ‘Partners in Style’, Chivas deluxe blended Scotch whiskey and Savile Row Bespoke, underneath the historic streets of Whitehall. Churchill’s war time headquarters played host to The English Gentleman at The Cabinet War Rooms party, which invited guests including A.A Gill, Sir Elton John, David Furnish and Tommy Hilfiger who joined other A-list names, gathered to celebrate the second day of London Collections: Men which is storming the capital this week. Tom Stubbs, Lulu and Michael Heseltine and other guests suited up for an evening presenting the bespoke tailors of St James’s and Savile Row with the premium shirt makers, shoemakers and hatters of London. A handful of gentlemen guests, including Michael Gambon, A.A Gill, David Furnish, John Standing, Oliver Cotton, Kenneth Cranham and Sir Elton John took to the stage to re-create a tactical strategy meeting in the Chief of Staff Conference Room, hailing their triumph with a nip of Chivas 18 Year Old blend.

Amid the legendary surroundings, guests enjoyed sartorially inspired tipples including the Cocktail Cuff, Chivas Three Piece and the Savile Row Classic, all presented on the trays of the 1940’s glamour girls who graced the room, much to the delight of contemporary gents Dermot O’Leary and Oliver Cheshire. The event served to commemorate the decades of British style and gentlemanly elegance that have marked London as one of the centres of modern craftsmanship and style on the globe.
