The Cambridge Satchel Company launch menswear

The Cambridge Satchel Company exploded into the world in 2008 after it was founded by Julie Deane and her mother Freda Thomas in their hometown of Cambridge. It was a well documented success story, with all the handmade leather satchels being based on an original Oxford and Cambridge satchel design. They were initially aimed at school children, however thanks to the internet and various fashion influencers such as Alexa Chung, not to mention a host of fashion bloggers, unexpectedly jumping on the trend, it became an ‘It’ bag in its own respect, with a cult following to rival many.

Good news for men this week as the now world famous brand have announced the launch of their first specifically men’s collection. Although many fashionable gents have been seen sporting the iconic accessory in past years, this is the first line to be aimed exclusively at men. Staying true to the brand’s roots, the range (which was initially previewed at LC:M in January 2015) features the traditional satchel-inspired design, with additional functionality, finishes and hardware tailored to men. The sophisticated bags are characterised by clean lines, timeless shapes and luxurious materials – the perfect addition to any discerning gentleman’s wardrobe.

Whether you’re looking to stow camera gear or office essentials, a practical day bag is indispensable, so invest in any of these stylish ones on offer…
