Wednesday night saw the coming together of two of England’s most iconic brands, Floris and Turnbull & Asser, to celebrate the launch of their collaborative fragrance, 71/72. The fragrance was launched as Limited Edition, is poured in Floris’ flagship store at 89 Jermyn Street in London’s Mayfair and is named after Turnbull & Asser’s flagship just up the road at number 71 & 72. The fragrance aims to evoke the emotions of a first visit to the brand’s store and mirrors the high quality materials used in the production of their shirts, with key notes of sandalwood, oud and orris. What’s more, each purchased bottle with be personally named, signed and numbered by Floris head perfumer, Penny Ellis.

The event, hosted in association with The Gentleman’s Journal, saw HIX create a series of bespoke canapés that represented each of the fragrance’s notes, from apple and oak smoked salmon ‘Hix cure’ to whipped chicken livers with bergamot jelly and guests drink champagne from Pol Roger and a HIX mocktail of mandarin juice, citrus sherbet, lime juice with jasmine tea, garnished with one sprig of thyme.
