Inside Rosetti: The heritage shipyard building yachts for the future

Step inside the Italian shipyard and discover its first superyacht - the 38m EXP

In 2017 a new player entered the superyacht market with bold, innovative designs and a clear vision for the future of the yachting industry. Rosetti Superyachts, however, was no surprise upstart but, instead, came backed with more than nine decades of shipbuilding expertise and excellence.

Part of the Rosetti Marino Group, Rosetti Superyachts is the latest expansion of the company which made its name building offshore oil and gas facilities. Since its foundation in 1925, the group has gone on to construct vessels ranging from barges for its local market in Ravenna to powerful ocean-going tugs and supply vessels.

Now a large organisation with international subsidiaries working in the energy, renewables and shipbuilding sectors, Rosetti’s experience creating vessels made to withstand whatever the oceans can throw at them made it the perfect builder for superyacht owners looking to invest in the burgeoning explorer yacht arena. Enter the 38m EXP.

The first hull from the new superyacht builder, the first 38m EXP is scheduled for delivery in spring 2021 and features naval architecture, interior layout and exterior design by Italian firm Hydro Tec. Ordered by experienced owners who have been involved in all aspects of the design and build, including choosing BurdissoCapponi Yachts as interior designer, the 38m EXP boasts classic yacht proportions in a contemporary style incorporating prominent use of glass throughout.

“The 38m EXP is the perfect combination of technical features, such as long range, space optimisation, robustness and reliability, mixed with a pureness of shapes and contemporary design more comparable with a classic superyacht,” explains Rosetti Superyachts CEO Fulvio Dodich.

Comprised of a large owner’s cabin on the main deck, along with four further guest cabins on the lower deck, key on board highlights include a spacious main saloon divided into a dining and seating area, an elegant upper deck lounge and an integrated bridge with office area suitable for both owner and captain.

Outside a vast sun deck offers a large dining table and corner bar along with plenty of sunbathing space. The true showstopper here, however, is a Jacuzzi with waterfall feature flanked by a pair of showers.

With the keel laid in May 2019, the 38m EXP promises to be a hugely impressive debut from the new superyacht builder, drawing on its extensive history creating rugged, go-anywhere vessels. “Rosetti Superyachts has great potential, strong naval construction experience and state-of-the-art shipyards directly facing the sea,” adds Dodich of the company’s future. “My wish is to bring all this know-how to the market, demonstrating that we can manage any kind of owner request, thus satisfying both their dreams and ours.”
