Going green: Grand Seiko ‘Summer’ Flow of Seasons Mechanical Watch
The hallowed Japanese watchmaker has a particular affinity for nature. The unique ‘Flow of Seasons’ collection charts the subtle shifts in the country’s climate — and this new ‘Summer’ timepiece is said to reflect the “leaves turning dark green at the end of summertime, and the light breeze signalling that autumn is on its way”.

Following in Mr Marvis’ past trimly-tailored footsteps, these finely-patterned shorts are well-cut and inventively-named. Previous designs from the brand have been dubbed ‘The Milkshakes’ or ‘The Mojitos’, but these new stretch gabardine strides are ‘The Goodalls’; so named for the pioneering anthropologist and adorned with tiny primates.

Expect notes of cigar boxes, roasted coffee, pressed rose petals — and a good whiff of patriotism.
