Art – Claudia Legge photography

Legge TGJ.01

We’ve had our eye on young artist Claudia Legge’s photographs for a while now. Surrealist, magical and transcendentally beautiful, her work is fast becoming highly collectable. Her new show, opening next week at The Tabernacle in Notting Hill, focuses on a series of photographs taken in India. Legge was invited to shoot an important series of the world’s last surviving saltwater swimming elephant. ‘I am trying to expose the subtlety of movement using the way that light is refracted through water to create a tension between image and impression,’ she says.

The elephant photographs will be shown alongside a series of stunning underwater nudes. Legge also takes commissions – what a wonderful present this would be for a wife or girlfriend. But don’t just take our word for it: pop down to her show to see this exciting young artist’s work for yourself, and maybe even pick up a piece or two.

Claudia Legge: India/Underwater will be showing at The Tabernacle Gallery, 35 Powis Square, London, w11 2AY, from Monday 21st to Monday 27th October, 10am – 8pm. For more information visit claudialegge.com
