WATCHES – THE BEST OF BASELWORLD SO FAR

Baselworld 2014 opened its doors to the public on Thursday, and as usual it has been a very special occasion. The regular immaculate booths housing the watch brands are as dazzling as ever, and the girls seem to get prettier every year.

After walking around the exhibition all day, some of the most notable new watch releases this year are as follows:

ROLEX, The long awaited red and blue Rolex GMT Master, in white gold is a striking replacement to its predecessor. Rolex have also released the Sky Dweller in white gold and yellow gold on alligator straps, as well as a brilliant Rose gold Sky Dweller.

TAG HEUER, , Tag Heuer have released the Monaco V4, which was conceptualised in 2004, but what a treat to see it on the shelves this year!

BREITLING, , Breitling have marked their thirtieth anniversary of their Chronomat Pilot’s watches by releasing four brilliant Chronomat Airborne models in a variety of case sizes, with the option of silver or black dial. The rugged and chunky Breitlings look tough with their military style fabric straps, but maintain the usual Breitling elegance from the exterior.

PATEK PHILIPPE, , Patek Philippe have released the Nautilus Travel Time Chronograph, which has had mixed reviews this week. Questioned why it needs a chronograph, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We like it, but its price tag is heavier than expected.

Today is the final day of Baselworld 2014, follow us to keep up to date with a final round up later this week.
