The hotels that most of us can only ever dream of staying in

Staying in a hotel is always a luxury, regardless of whether or not you’ve found yourself there for work or pleasure. Your sheets are cleaned for you, clean towels every day and wonderful food at the ring of a bell practically. Add to that the experience of staying in the finest hotels in the world and you instantly become one of the luckiest gentlemen in the world. Nothing beats the feeling of experiencing a new country and culture for the first time, and there’s no greater pleasure than spending the money that you work so hard for on a rare moment of indulgence. And gentlemen, if you happen to find yourself with that rare moment of indulgence and some holiday days to take, these are the places to visit.

The Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur, India

The beauty of this place is absolutely mind blowing. Spread over an incredible fifty acres on the land of 200 year old hunting grounds on the Maharana of Mewar. The hotel is vast, but in a way that still feels comfortable. The layout is intricate but beautiful, with interconnecting domes and corridors that are representative of the city of Udaipur itself – whose seven lakes are all connected by canals. No words do this place justice, so we strongly suggest you get yourself there as soon humanly possible.

Ice Hotel

This place is actually real: a hotel that’s made out of ice and re-made year after year. Sat in Northern Sweden, in the small village of Jukkasjärvi – about 17 kilometres from Kiruna – there’s no doubt that hotels have aped the concept since it was first founded in 1989, but this is still the original and by far the best. Words can’t begin to describe the incredible feat that this hotel operates, so you’ll have to visit it to get to grips with the beauty and scale of the place.
