The summer issue launch at Masterpiece

There could have been no better venue to launch the summer issue of The Gentleman’s Journal than Masterpiece London 2015, where guests were greeted by stunning blue skies and a beautiful summer’s evening.

The splendour of the occasion was translated indoors, with the art fair showcasing some of the most incredible work from a diverse selection of exhibitors from around the world. One such name was Steinway & Sons, makers of the finest pianos since 1853, who not only displayed a grand piano at the party but, thanks to the finesse of pianist Simon Mulligan, also treated guests to a magical rendition of Don’t Get Around Much by Duke Ellington.

Guests at The Royal Hospital Chelsea included Lady Alice Manners, Lady Violet Manners, Arabella Holland, Hon Michael Tollemache, Clare Tollemache, Freddie Coleridge, Adelaide Bolitho, Jemima Cadbury, Nazy Vassegh, Tom Hunt, James Glarey, Phillip Page, Sabrina Percy, Victoria Hedlund, George Sunderland and Robin Swithinbank, to name but a few.

Canapés on offer included delights from of beef fillet with crisp Parmesan and truffle to heritage golden beetroot and honey goat’s cheese mousse. Guests drank champagne and elderflower pressé mocktails throughout the evening.
