Johnny Depp plays the buccaneering art dealer and quasi-criminal rogue Charlie Mortdecai in his new film, in which he’s on the run from everyone from vengeful terrorists to MI5, and some riled up Russians for good measure.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star is hoping that the film, which is based on a trilogy of books written by Kyril Bonfiglioli, will prove a hit and help him recover from a string of recent flops including Transcendence and The Lone Ranger.
The trailer shows off an all-star cast including Ewan McGregor, Gwyneth Paltrow, Olivia Munn, and Paul Bettany who plays Mortdecai’s long-suffering manservant, the unfortunately named Jock Strapp.
