Is this the most incredible interior of any superyacht?

When the striking 50-metre superyacht Moonraker was launched last year it made waves not just on the water but throughout the yachting industry. As the first of the Italian shipyard, Overmarine’s brand new Mangusta 165E Series (E standing for Evolution), has blistering speeds, striking looks and highly customised interior that demonstrate some exceptional achievements in modern motor yacht design.

While Moonraker’s sporty yet ‘aggressive and muscular’ Stefano Righini-designed exterior is undoubtedly a thing of beauty, it is her meticulously constructed interior that makes her really stand out. Following the success of the 165 series, Mangusta yachts have become known for their high quality attention to detail and styling that envelops the tastes and requirements of each owner and the 165E has committed to going that one step further. With 15 types of wood and 10 different rare marbles used alongside materials such as mother-of-pearl and Aston Martin leather furnishings, Moonraker certainly does this – a perfect example of a crowd-pleasing luxury motor yacht with bags of personality.

The overall style of the living areas manages to fuse comfort with innovation and features a number of cutting-edge audiovisual features, as well as some impressive onboard amenities. These include a cinema, an elegant ebony-clad bar, gym, Turkish bath and many more which combined with extra details such as a professional cigar humidor ensure every whim is catered for while cruising. Four huge staterooms are on offer to allow up to eight people to sleep on board – the master suite being the most spectacular with its original artworks, mother-of-pearl mosaics and intelligent mood lighting.

Out on deck there is plenty of space to dine, relax and party. The sundeck, with its ample sunpad/seating areas and gorgeous light-up bar evokes an exclusive Ibiza beach club-type feel while the actual beach club at the stern allows for absolute comfort by the water, as well as easy access to the water toys. Facilities such as the 55-inch pop-up TVs and the jacuzzi mean you won’t want for anything while speeding along the water at an incredible 40 knots. That is, of course, if you can find the $217,000 to charter her.
