The start of the summer season brings with it an array of sport, fashion and leisure events, to all of which dressing appropriately is key. Gentlemen often come unstuck when packing for a destination wedding or deciphering the ever difficult ‘casual Friday’ dress code, and that’s where industry professional and menswear stylist Joe Ottaway comes to save the day. With a decade of experience in the menswear industry, and having worked with some of London’s leading Savile Row tailors, he’s the man that the likes of David Gandy call on for daily style advice.
With this week’s launch of his new venture, The Style Club, Wednesday saw the coming together of industry professionals to speak to members of the prestigious South Kensington Club on the dos and don’ts of summer dressing. Alongside Joe was SKC’s in-house barber, Carmelo Guastella, a leading authority on men’s luxury grooming who has worked with major global brands, and the Gentleman’s Journal’s Saskia Rumbelow was also on hand to give her advice.
Joe, Carmelo and Saskia hosted the intimate talk with SKC members on everything from dressing for a summer wedding, to the basics every gentleman should have in his wardrobe. All of this was enjoyed over a whiskey cocktail and members left with a wealth of knowledge to get them through the summer months, ensuring they will look their most stylish yet.
