Savile Row opens its doors with Chivas Regal
Savile Row is the most prestigious stretch of sartorial road on the planet. It has housed the finest tailors around for over two centuries, and as a result its customer list includes more royals and celebrities than you can shake a stick at. With this heritage though comes a certain exclusivity, and many of those interested in the road may feel intimated by the prospect of actually entering one of the esteemed houses.
Chivas Regal recognised this, and in teaming up with the Savile Row Bespoke Association they are opening up The Row for all to explore. A number of the street’s most respected tailors are opening up their doors for the Open Row event, which takes place on the 3rd June, but this will be no usual late night shopping experience. A number of activities will be unfolding, ranging from cutting masterclasses, luxury wet shave presentations and unique clothing showcases. Davies & Son will even be displaying clothing they made for Michael Jackson, as worn in the video for ‘Leave Me Alone’.
If you’re in the market for a new suit, there will be exclusive discounts available on the night too. Kilgour will be offering 20% off their ready to wear lines, and Hardy Amies will be offering that as well as 20% off bespoke orders, a percentage virtually unheard of in the industry.
Of course, Chivas will be ever-present throughout the night and they’ll be offering experiences of their own. The night will begin with an Open Row arrival reception at Richard James, where Chivas Regal will be served as an aperitif of what’s to come. Elsewhere, unique tastings will give you the chance to sample both 18-year-old and 25-year-old drams, a Boisdale bar offers cocktails and a Royal Salute Cloud pour will take place at Lutwytche.
