Wishlist: What we want this week

From woollen suits to wireless chargers, what's caught our eye this week?

A collaboration with industrial designer Joey Roth resulted in some of Grovemade’s most striking and stylish speakers to date. With American black walnut, stainless steel, premium tanned leather and natural cork helping craft the enclosure (which has no parallel walls and works like a miniature concert hall) these speakers take natural sound to a new level.

The X3 off-road vehicle’s place on this list needs no justification. Tearing up the single vehicle rule book, this four-wheeled machine of ferocity and fun will push your expectations of what such a vehicle can do. From its unmistakable, future-forward exterior design to its Ergo-Lok cockpit that puts the driver at the heart of the vehicle, we want nothing more than to tackle terrain from the comfort of our very own off-road beast – and we’re guessing you do, too.

This classic dark navy umbrella is the result of a collaboration between London Undercover and Baracuta. A Fraser Tartan lining and maplewood shaft and handle mean that, although this umbrella may look reserved when closed, it will deliver a splash of colour and individuality just when your day needs brightening.

Jameson Caskmates is the latest whiskey to jump on the barrel reuse bandwagon. But, unlike those that have appropriated sherry or simple beer barrels in the past, this special batch of Jameson has been aged to perfection in barrels from Cork’s Franciscan Well brewery – that were used to mature Stout in a previous life. As a result, expect additional notes of cocoa, coffee and butterscotch.

This Kickstarter project raised over five times its original $44,000 goal – and we can see why. Straight from a science-fiction future, this gadget allows your smartwatch – be that an Apple Watch or Pebble – to hover whilst it charges. The juice jumps from the charging plate to your watch thanks to Lift’s innovative ‘proprietary induction system’ and – even though we have no idea what that is – it’s not putting us off.

Whilst 2011 sensation 50 Shades of Grey resulted in the sales of zip ties skyrocketing, thankfully the same can’t be said for the similarly-utilised grey ties. However, despite their less-than-classy connotations, that doesn’t mean a grey tie can’t be tasteful if you do it right. Take this Charcoal knitted 100% silk tie from Michelsons – refined, textured and understated.

Jaeger’s new double-breasted range is the perfect bridge between the summer and autumn suit. Cut to a slim fit from Super 120s wool – sourced from the renowned Italian mill Reda – it’s not only luxuriously soft and lightweight, but completely machine washable. And who could fail to love that deep, earthy rust colour?

The Grand Cru series from Laguiole was created to satisfy the need for more stylish and durable openers. This particular tool, the top of the range, features a five-turn spiral and a serrated crescent foil cutter blade with cap lifter, crafted from luxurious and stylish snake wood. A fine wine deserves a fine corkscrew – and this will turn even the most casual after-dinner drink into an event.

The end of summer is drawing near, so before outdoor eating gets shut indoors for another year, why not enjoy dining alfresco with this impressive Buschbeck masonry barbecue. The Nassau has a double-skinned construction and features an inner chimney hood that allows you to burn logs or firewood. So you could start off cooking tasty BBQ food, and then transform the grill into a functional fireplace as the evening settles down to its embers.
