The ski resorts you should try this season

Looking for something a little different to the usual? Look no further.

There’s nothing like being on the ball for booking a ski season to heighten one’s anticipation for what’s guaranteed to be one of the greatest weeks of the year. But there comes a time where we’ve all grown out of the resorts filled with gold-plated skis and champagne showers for breakfast. So, if that’s you, here are the resorts you should be considering this season.

Often hailed as one of the most exclusive resorts in the world and visited by some of the wealthiest and most famous men and women in the world, Klosters is a must-visit for every skier out there. Laced with style, sophistication and some of the best ski slopes a gentleman can hope for, this is one resort not to be missed. Where to stay? Hotel Alpina.

If you’re looking for something undeniably classic to make your ski season the best yet, Vail is where you need to be. Each and every corner of the resort, from its chalets and restaurants to its slopes, are laced in serious luxury and if you’re looking for an experience like no other, then look no further. Where to stay? The Four Seasons.

The French alps are historically one of the most impressive places to ski in the world, but it can be tiresome returning to the slopes year after year. If you’re sick of Courchevel and have skied Verbier time and again and are ready to try something different, Flaine is well and truly calling your name. Most of the slopes are beautifully tree-lined and are going to be significantly more empty than most other resorts in the French Alps which, for the seasoned skier, is definitely no bad thing. Where to stay? La Centaure.

Last but certainly not least is Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fieberbrunn, which may be a mouthful to pronounce but is certainly worth the faff. Said to be one of the coolest and most unique resorts in the world. The Austrian hubs of Fieberbrunn and Saalbach-Hinterglemm have joined forces to create this incredible global hub with some of the best slopes that Austria has to offer.
