The sexiest women from the past 100 years

From the last decade, some women have stood head and shoulders above their peers as the sexiest of their time

The last 100 years have given us some of the most incredible women to ever grace our planet, but who made the cut?

Dolores del Rio was the first Mexican movie star with an international appeal and experienced a meteoric career, Orson Welles described her as “the most exciting woman I’ve ever met”. High praise, indeed.

Marlene Dietrich: “A man would prefer to come home to an unmade bed and a happy woman, than to a neatly made bed and an angry woman.”

Rita Hayworth: “I think all women have a certain elegance about them which is destroyed when they take off their clothes.”

Marilyn Monroe: “Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.”

Brigite Bardot: “When I love, I do it without counting. I give myself entirely. And each time, it is the grand love of my life.”

Farrah Fawcett, circa 1975.

Farrah Fawcett: “God made man stronger but not necessarily more intelligent. He gave women intuition and femininity. And, used properly, that combination easily jumbles the brain of any man I’ve ever met.”

Paulina Porizkova: “Beauty, unlike the rest of the gifts handed out at birth, does not require dedication, patience and hard work to pay off. But it’s also the only gift that does not keep on giving.”

Claudia Schiffer: “I set for myself only small goals, goals that are not that far away.”

Angelina Jolie: “I’ve been reckless, but I’m not a rebel without a cause.”

Scarlett Johansson: “I’m not anxious to starve myself. For me, it’s not at all sexy to be ultra-thin.”
