3 Best Places For The Perfect Spring Date

We hate to talk about the weather…who are we kidding, we’re British and it is definitely up there with our favourite 5 topics, but when the sun comes out, well there is really very little else we can talk about. In fact, we have just spent the last 15 minutes talking about where we would like to be right now. The general consensus was that we all rather fancy sitting by a pool, or on a beach somewhere exotic, cocktail in hand and music wafting through the air. We all named different countries, islands and hotels, but the one consistency was that we saw ourselves lying or sitting next to someone we care about. Is there anything more idealistic than lying in the sun next to someone you love? Probably not. Well we know that it might be a tad optimistic to be thinking abut sunbathing in Hyde Park anytime soon, but this bout of blissful warmth sweeping the streets of London has got us thinking about the the best date spots for spring. Here are our top 3 spots in London for this season…

SPRING ON THE SERPENTINE, , Where better than London’s iconic Hyde Park to spend a spring day? Hyde Park has a fleet of rowing and pedal boats which operate on the famous Serpentine and the UK’s first Solarshuttle, a magnificent vessel which glides silently across the lake powered only by the sun. The Solarshuttle carries up to 40 passengers and the pedal and row boats hold up to 6 persons each. We’d suggested renting out a paddle boat for the afternoon, taking some nibbles and champagne and enjoying this unique date – just the two of you., royalparks.org.uk

ROOF TOP DINING AT THE BOUNDARY, , The rooftop space at The Boundary is one of our absolute favourites in London and includes a weatherproof pergola allowing the bar and dining area to remain open every day and all year – whatever the weather. Not only do you get beautiful views across Shoreditch and the City from Boundary, but you can also dine al fresco at its rooftop bar and grill. We suggest enjoying a few of the delicious cocktails on the Ibiza-style chairs and then dig into the Mediterranean tapas menu or go for prawns, lobster, meats and vegetables, which are cooked on the grill en brochette. This really is a very special date venue and will certainly win a lot of brownie points. if the chill sets in later on in the evening then you can raid the supply of blankets and get all cosy under the stars – win win., 2-4 Boundary Street, Shoreditch, London E2 7DD theboundary.co.uk

PICNIC IN THE PARK, , It’s an oldie, but a goodie. Picnics at this time of year can be the ultimate date. The sun is out, but it’s not so sweltering that your ice bucket melts within the first five minutes. Pack a wonderful picnic – we’re talking serious stuff here gents, not a handful of baby-bell and a stick of french bread – a warm rug and some delicious drinks and find the perfect spot in St James’s Park. Better still, pick up a picnic hamper from nearby Fortnum & Mason for dating perfection. If she isn’t asking you out for a second date then we’ll eat our words!, fortnumandmason.com
