10 CARS TO LOOK OUT FOR AT GOODWOOD FOS

Each and every summer the majestic grounds of Goodwood House get transformed into a car lover’s paradise. With its cult-like following, the Festival of Speed unites petrolheads, world-class race drivers and the landed gentry for four days of automotive euphoria.

Both new and old cars are celebrated at the event, but it’s the Michelin Supercar Paddock that perhaps garners most of the attention, housing state-of-the-art models that often haven’t been debuted in public before. This is, of course, an extremely exciting prospect for car fans but thanks to the beauty of Goodwood you’ll get to see them race up the hill climb too, so we thought we’d run down the 10 cars to look out for at this action-packed event.

LAFERRARI, , The biggest supercar news at the Festival of Speed this year is that the LaFerrari will go head to head with its two main rivals for the first time ever. Although we’re looking forward seeing it up close, we just can’t wait to hear that animalistic V12 screaming up the hill.

MCLAREN P1, , Many have speculated that the P1 is indeed faster than the LaFerrari. Either way it’s an awe-inspiring machine, and one that represents the future not only for McLaren, but also for the rest of the supercar universe.

PORSCHE 918 SPYDER, , The 918 is Porsche’s most technically advanced car ever. It’s also one of its most stunning and we can’t wait to see it once again at FOS.

KOENIGSEGG ONE:1, , The Koenigsegg One:1 is quite frankly insane. For many, this will be the car they are most looking forward to, and with its 1345bhp engine it’s not hard to see why.

HONDA NSX, , This is arguably the most important car to come out of Japan in a very long time. The iconic NSX has been reborn with a torque vectoring all-wheel drive system and forward-thinking three-motor hybrid powertrain.

FERRARI 458 SPECIALE , , The Italian giant recently announced that the Speciale will be the last Ferrari to ever feature their famous naturally aspirated V8 engine. This is sad news, but this car is widely believed to be the quickest mid-engined Ferrari ever (other than the LaFerrari), so expect a blistering time up the hill.

PAGANI HUAYRA, , The Pagani Huayra is a work of art. It’s outrageously luxurious interior has garnered quite the reputation and it’s becoming somewhat of a mainstay within the Michelin Supercar Paddock, having been on show for the last two years.

MCLAREN 650S MSO, , As if the 650S wasn’t special enough, McLaren Special Operations (MSO) has tinkered with the state-of-the-art supercar, adding aesthetic upgrades that make it look leaner and more aggressive.

BMW i8, , The BMW i8 will likely go down in the history books as the car that changed it all. Its concept car styling is matched by perhaps the most technologically advanced insides of anything we have ever seen on four wheels. It’s quick too, so expect an impressive, albeit silent hill time.

2014 FORMULA 1 CARS, , With an immensely exciting start to the season, Formula 1 has been the talk of the motoring world, for a number of reasons. Many of the teams will be represented this year, and as it’s the first time that many British F1 fans will get to hear the new turbo V6 hybrid powertrains, it’s bound to be very exciting indeed.
